Artists in the Woods provides rural artisans access to a world wide marketplace through e-commerce while creating economic development that is compatible with their rural lifestyle.
The “Artists in the Woods” program gives remote place-based artisans, college students and high school students an opportunity to develop a skill, craft or art medium that can be sold through e-commerce to bring financial support to families in poverty.
All of our items are handcrafted by our local artists and are available for purchase today! Items are one-of-a-kind and are not manufactured in bulk. The Artists in the Woods gift shop is located in the Framing Our Community office, 315 Main Street, Elk City, Idaho.
If you are an artist in our rural area of north central Idaho and would like your items listed with us, please contact us at (208) 842-2939 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Artists in the Woods is a program of Framing Our Community (FOC) and mirrors the success FOC has achieved in creating “Jobs in the Woods” for those who do not or cannot do physical work in the woods or production line work at the Elk City Small Business Incubator.
Purchase of these quality products enables Framing Our Community (FOC) to continue to improve the rural economy by helping local artisans and their families through E-commerce and the “Artists in the Woods” program.
FOC works collaboratively with the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and the Clearwater Basin Collaborative to restore the pristine beauty of our national forests for generations to come. Regional Economic Development includes: courses in entrepreneurship and small business development, our Small Business Incubator, and the Artists in the Woods program. Visit FOC’s website, www.framingourcommunity.org for more information on restoration and economic development efforts.
